bop معنا : رفتن – چرخ زدن Ex1. We were bopping around town, doing some shopping. برای کمی خرید، داشتیم اطراف شهر چرخی می زدیم. Ex2. We spent the afternoon just bopping around town. بعدازظهر را برای رفتن به اطراف شهر سپری کردیم You can't have it both ways معنا: هم خدا و هم خرما را خواستن موقعیت: وقتی که شما نمی توانید از دو طرف قضیه سود یا منفعتی داشته باشید. Ex. It's either me or her. You can't have it both ways!  یا من یا او؟ نمیتونی هم خدا رو بخای و هم خرما رو it's) no bother) Syn. No problem معنا: مهم نیست موقعیت کاربردی: وقتی کسی از اعمال یا گفته های کسی ناراحت یا عصبی نمیشه.  Ex. "Sorry to interrupt you." "That's okay, no bother." "شرمنده مزاحم شدم. بسیار خوب،  مهم نیست" !bottoms up معنا : به سلامتی موقعیت کاربرد: هنگام نوشیدن می یا شراب خیلی مرسومه که میگن از نوشیدنی لذت ببر. Ex. Alen, now forget about the your bad life and bottoms up! آلن، حالا زندگی بدت رو فراموش کن و به سلامتی بنوش   Sth is not brain surgery معنا: شق القمر نیست موقعیت کاربردی: وقتی میخواهین برای آسان بودن عملی تاکید کنبن و نیازی به قدرت فکر و نابغه بودن نیست Ex. Running the microwave isn't exactly brain surgery. راه اندازی مایکروویو دقیقا کار شق القمری نیست

Mountain Story (داستان کوهستان)

Mountain Story
"A son and his father were walking on the mountains.
Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"
And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"
The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"
He receives the answer: "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a champion!"
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.

This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;
Life will give you back everything you have given to it."

داستان كوهستان
پسري همراه با پدرش در كوهستان پياده روي مي كردند كه ناگهان پسر به زمين مي خورد و آسيب مي بيند و نا خود آگاه فرياد مي زند: "آآآه ه ه ه ه"

با تعجب صداي تكرار را از جايي در كوهستان مي شنود. "آآآه ه ه ه ه"

با كنجكاوي، فرياد مي زند:"تو كي هستي؟"

صدا پاسخ می دهد:"تو كي هستي"

سپس با صداي بلند در كوهستان فرياد مي زند:" ستايشت مي كنم"

صدا پاسخ مي دهد:" ستايشت مي كنم"

به خاطر پاسخ عصباني مي شود و فرياد مي زند:"ترسو"

جواب را دريافت مي كند:"ترسو"

به پدرش نگاه مي كند و مي پرسد:" چه اتفاقي افتاده؟ "

پدر خنديد و گفت:" پسرم، گوش بده"

اين بار پدر فرياد مي زند: " تو قهرماني"

صدا پاسخ مي دهد : " تو قهرماني"

پسر شگفت زده مي شود، اما متوجه موضوع نمي شود

سپس پدر توضيح مي دهد: " مردم به اين پژواك مي گويند، اما اين همان زندگيست"

زندگي همان چيزي را كه انجام مي دهي يا مي گويي به تو بر مي گرداند

زندگي ما حقيقا بازتابي از اعمال ماست

اگر در دنيا عشق بيشتري مي خواهي، عشق بيشتري را در قلبت بيافرين

The Farmer's Donkey

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.Finally he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well, and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!


روزی الاغ یک کشاورز به درون چاه افتاد و ساعتها گریه کرد. کشاورز تصمیم گرفت فکری به حال ماجرا کند. سرانجام به این فکر افتاد که چون الاغ پیر است بهتر است چاه را بپوشاند. الاغ ارزش بیرون آوردن از چاه را ندارد. چند تن از همسایگانش را صدا کرد تا با بیل خاکها را داخل چاه بریزند. الاغ که این را فهمید شروع به زاری کرد. اما چیزی نگذشت که ساکت شد.
بعد از مقداری خاک پاشیدن کشاورز به درون چاه نگاه کرد و از چیزی که میدید متعجب میشد. با هر بیل خاکی که داخل چاه ریخته میشد، الاغ آنها را از بدنش میتکاند و یک قدم بالاتر می آمد. همین کار ادامه پیدا کرد و طولی نکشید که الاغ به لبه ی چاه رسید.


نتیجه:زندگی همیشه سختی دارد. اما شما میتوانید از هر کدام از سختی ها به عنوان یک پله ی ترقی استفاده کنید. ما میتوانیم با تسلیم نشدن در برابر مشکلات از عمیق ترین چاه ها و گرفتاری ها خلاص شویم

EAGLES IN A STORM

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?
The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.
The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.
God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.
Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.
عقاب ها در طوفانآيا مي دانستيد كه عقاب قبل از شروع طوفان متوجه نزديك شدنش مي شود؟
عقاب به نقطه اي بلند پرواز مي كند و منتظر رسيدن باد مي شود
وقتي طوفان از راه مي رسد بال هايش را باز مي كند تا باد بلندش كند و به بالاي طوفان ببردش
در حالي كه طوفان در زير بالهایش در جريان است، عقاب بر روي آن در حال پرواز است
عقاب از طوفان نمي گريزد و از آن براي بلند تر پروزا كردن استفاده مي كند. با باد هايي پرواز مي كند و اوج مي گيرد كه طوفان را به همراه دارند
وقتي طوفان زندگي به سمت ما مي آيد و بی شک همه ما آنها را تجربه خواهیم کرد، مي توانيم با قرار دادن ذهن و اعتقاداتمان به سمت خدا بر آنها چيره شويم. طوفان ها نبايد بر ما غلبه كنند. ما مي توانيم اجازه بدهيم كه قدرت خدا ما را به فراتر از آنها ببرد
خداوند ما را توانا ساخته تا بر فراز باد هاي طوفان هايي كه همراه خود بيماري، مصيبت، شكست و نااميدي در زندگي را به ارمغان مي آورند پرواز كنيم
به ياد آوريد، بار زندگي نيست كه باعث سقوط ما مي شود بلكه علتش نوع عکس العمل ماست

My mom only had one eye.  I hated her... she was such an embarrassment.

مادر من فقط یك چشم داشت . من از اون متنفر بودم ... اون همیشه مایه خجالت من بود

She cooked for students & teachers to support the family.

اون برای امرار معاش خانواده برای معلم ها و بچه مدرسه ای ها غذا می پخت

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me.

یك روز اومده بود  دم در مدرسه كه به من سلام كنه و منو با خود به خونه ببره

I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me?

 خیلی خجالت كشیدم . آخه اون چطور تونست این كار رو بامن بكنه ؟

I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.

 به روی خودم نیاوردم ، فقط با تنفر بهش یه نگاه كردم وفورا   از اونجا دور شدم

The next day at school one of my classmates said, "EEEE, your mom only has one eye!"

روز بعد یكی از همكلاسی ها منو مسخره كرد و گفت  هووو .. مامان تو فقط یك چشم داره

I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear.

فقط دلم میخواست یك جوری خودم رو گم و گور كنم .  كاش زمین دهن وا میكرد و منو ..كاش مادرم  یه جوری گم و گور میشد...

So I confronted her that day and said, " If you're only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die?!!!"

روز بعد بهش گفتم اگه واقعا میخوای منو شاد و خوشحال كنی چرا نمی میری ؟

My mom did not respond...

اون هیچ جوابی نداد....

I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger.

 حتی یك لحظه هم راجع به حرفی كه زدم فكر نكردم ، چون خیلی عصبانی بودم .

I was oblivious to her feelings.

احساسات اون برای من هیچ اهمیتی نداشت

I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.

دلم میخواست از اون خونه برم و دیگه هیچ كاری با اون نداشته باشم

So I studied real hard, got a chance to go to Singapore to study.

 سخت درس خوندم و موفق شدم برای ادامه تحصیل به سنگاپور برم

Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own.

اونجا ازدواج كردم ، واسه خودم خونه خریدم ، زن و بچه و زندگی...

I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts

 از زندگی ، بچه ها و آسایشی كه داشتم خوشحال بودم

Then one day, my mother came to visit me.

تا اینكه یه روز مادرم اومد به دیدن من

She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren.

اون سالها منو ندیده بود و همینطور نوه ها شو

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited.

وقتی ایستاده بود دم در  بچه ها به اون خندیدند و من سرش داد كشیدم كه چرا خودش رو دعوت كرده كه بیاد اینجا  ، اونم  بی خبر

I screamed at her, "How dare you come to my house and scare my children!" GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!"

 سرش داد زدم  ": چطور جرات كردی بیای به خونه من و بجه ها رو بترسونی؟!"  گم شو از اینجا! همین حالا

And to this, my mother quietly answered, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared out of sight.

اون به آرامی جواب داد : " اوه   خیلی معذرت میخوام مثل اینكه آدرس رو عوضی اومدم " و بعد فورا رفت واز نظر  ناپدید شد .

One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house in Singapore .

یك روز یك دعوت نامه اومد در خونه من درسنگاپور برای شركت درجشن تجدید دیدار دانش آموزان مدرسه

So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.

 ولی من به همسرم به دروغ گفتم كه به یك سفر كاری میرم .

After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.

بعد از مراسم ، رفتم به اون كلبه قدیمی خودمون ؛ البته فقط از روی كنجكاوی .

My neighbors said that she is died.

همسایه ها گفتن كه اون مرده

I did not shed a single tear.

ولی من حتی یك قطره اشك هم نریختم

They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

اونا یك نامه به من دادند كه اون ازشون خواسته بود كه به من بدن

"My dearest son, I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to Singapore and scared your children.

 ای عزیزترین پسر من ، من همیشه به فكر تو بوده ام ، منو ببخش كه به خونت تو سنگاپور   اومدم و بچه ها تو ترسوندم ،

I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.

 خیلی خوشحال شدم وقتی شنیدم داری میآی اینجا

But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.

 ولی من ممكنه كه نتونم از جام بلند شم كه بیام تورو ببینم

I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.

وقتی داشتی بزرگ میشدی از اینكه دائم باعث خجالت تو شدم خیلی متاسفم

You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye.

آخه میدونی ... وقتی تو خیلی كوچیك بودی تو یه تصادف یك چشمت رو از دست دادی

As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with one eye.

به عنوان یك مادر نمی تونستم تحمل كنم و ببینم كه تو داری بزرگ میشی با یك چشم

So I gave you mine.

بنابراین چشم خودم رو دادم به تو

I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.

A shark inside us

The Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But the water close to Japan has not held many fish for decades. So to feed the Japanese population, fishing boats got bigger and went farther than ever. The farther the fishermen went, the longer it took to bring the fish. If the return trip took more time, the fish were not fresh. ژاپنی ها همواره عاشق ماهی تازه هستند. ولی آب نزدیک ژاپن برای چند دهه ماهی زیادی نداشت. بنابراین برای فراهم کردن غذای ژاپنی ها ، قایق های ماهی گیری بزرگتر شدند و مسافتی بیشتر از قبل را طی می کردند. هرچه ماهیگیران دورتر می رفتند، بیشتر طول می کشید تا ماهی بیاورند. اگر برگشتشان بیشتر طول می کشید ماهی ها دیگر تازه نبود To solve this problem, fish companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go farther and stay longer. However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen fish. And they did not like the taste of frozen fish. The frozen fish brought a lower price. So, fishing companies installed fish tanks. They would catch the fish and stuff them in the tanks, fin to fin. After a little thrashing around, they were tired, dull, and lost their fresh-fish taste. The fishing industry faced an impending crisis! But today, they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan. How did they manage? To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks but with a small shark. The fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. The challenge they face keeps them alive and fresh! برای حل این مشکل، شرکتهای ماهیگیری فریزرهایی را در قایقهایشان نصب کردند . آنها ماهی های به دست آمده را در فریزر قرار می دادند. فریزرها این امکان را فراهم می کرد که قایقها دورتر بروند و بیشتر بمانند. ولیکن ژاپنی ها توانستند به تفاوت بین ماهی تازه و منجمد پی ببرند و آنها مزه ماهی منجمد را دوست نداشتند. قیمت ماهی منجمد کاهش پیدا کرد. بنابراین شرکتهای ماهیگیری مخزنهایی نصب کردند.  آنها ماهی میگرفتند و درون مخزن قرار می دادند. ماهی ها پس از کمی تحرک، خسته می شدند و مزه تازه بودن خود را از دست می دادند. صنعت ماهیگیری دچار بحران قریب الوقوعی شد. ولی امروزه آنها ماهی های تازه به ژاپن می فرستند. چطور توانستند مدیریت کنند؟ برای اینکه طعم ماهی تازه بماند، شرکتهای ماهیگیری ژاپنی هنوز ماهی ها را در مخزنها قرار میدهند ولی با یک کوسه کوچک. ماهی ها تقلا می کنند و از اینرو دائما در حال حرکتند. تلاشی که می کنند باعث می شود آنها تازه و سرحال باشند. Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired and dull? Basically in our lives, sharks are new challenges to keep us active. If you are steadily conquering challenges, you are happy. Your challenges keep you energized. Don’t create success and revel in it in a state of inertia. تاحالا به این پی بردید که برخی از ما در استخر زندگی می کنیم ولی بیشتر مواقع خسته و کسل هستیم؟ اساسا در زندگی ما، کوسه ها چالش های تازه ای هستند که ما را فعال نگه می دارند. اگر شما مدام در تکاپو باشید، شاد خواهید بود. تلاشهایتان است که  شما را پر انرژی نگه می دارد. در وضعیتی از سکون موفقیت را کسب نکنید و به آن شاد نباشید.   You have the resources, skills and abilities to make a difference. Two sisters and the cat

Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Smith are sisters. Mrs. Wilson lives in a house

 in Duncan and Mrs. Smith lives in a condominium in Victoria. One day

 Mrs. Wilson visited her sister. When her sister answered the door,

 Mrs. Wilson saw tears in her eyes. "What's the matter?" she asked

 Mrs. Smith said "My cat Sammy died last night and I have no place to

bury him".

She began to cry again. Mrs. Wilson was very sad because she

 knew her sister loved the cat very much. Suddenly Mrs.. Wilson said

 "I can bury your cat in my garden in Duncan and you can come 

and visit him sometimes." Mrs.. Smith stopped crying and 

the two sisters had tea together and a nice visit.

It was five o'clock and Mrs. Wilson said it was time for her to go home.

 She put on her hat, coat and gloves and Mrs.

 Smith put the dead Sammy into a shopping bag.

 Mrs. Wilson took the shopping bag and walked to the bus stop.

 She waited a long time for the bus so she bought a newspaper. 

When the bus arrived, she got on the bus, sat down and

 put the shopping bag on the floor beside her feet. 

She then began to read the newspaper.

 When the bus arrived at her bus stop,

 she got off the bus and walked for  about two minutes.

  Suddenly she remembered she had left the shopping bag on the

bus
